‘Goodbye’ to tired old laptops
Currys PC World promotes its laptop trade-in scheme to students and parents with AMV BBDO’S cheeky TVC campaign.

Working methodically with AMV BBDO we offered a highly polished library track from the JPML catalogue that had the perfect balance of regret, hope and, in this context, a tongue-in-cheek solemnity. Earnest piano successfully gains the viewers trust before the fun twist is revealed. 

"In "Clive," a son appears to be struggling to say goodbye to his father as the two pack the car for university. But not until the close-up of his heartfelt farewell do viewers realise it’s his old laptop he’s been speaking to all along. A similar reveal happens in "Rosie," which shows a mother having an emotional moment with her daughter. The work was created by Oliver Frost at Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO and directed by Jono Hunter through MindsEye".
